Ameglia is a charming town located in the province of La Spezia in the Liguria region of Italy. It is located near the Tuscan border and is known for its picturesque setting along the Magra River. The town boasts a historic center with narrow streets, ancient buildings and splendid views of the surrounding landscape. Ameglia is also close to popular tourist destinations such as Lerici and the Golfo dei Poeti, making it a lovely place to explore while visiting the Ligurian coast.

Beautiful viewpoint. Worth the stop

I went up Montemarcello during a circular tour from Marina di Massa (https://www.komoot.com/it-it/tour/1120066516). The climb is not easy because it is very long even if there are no impossible slopes. Once you get to the top, the first thing to do is go to the viewpoint and enjoy the sea view over the entire gulf and the entire coast, on one side towards La Spezia, on the other towards Versilia. After this, the advice is to refresh yourself by eating or drinking something in one of the two places along the main road.

Small village from which you have an exceptional view. The town is small and I recommend using it as a stopover during a ride. There are a couple of useful places for refreshment. The panorama is at the Belvedere.
