• 1976년 5월 6일 발생한 파괴적인 지진의 수직 진앙은 몬테 산 시메오네(Monte San Simeone) 산괴 바로 아래에 있었습니다. 리히터 규모 6.5의 강력한 지각 충격이 산을 내부에서부터 찢어놓았습니다. 거대한 진동으로 인해 산비탈에서 수백만 톤의 바위가 떨어져 나갔고, 엄청난 굉음과 함께 산기슭에 위치한 보르다노(Bordano)와 벤초네(Venzone) 마을을 덮쳐 폐허로 만들었습니다. 이 길을 따라 운전한다는 것은 말 그대로 유럽의 갈라진 지각 흉터 위를 달리는 것입니다.
