A lookout point on the scenic road. The view of the valleys is worth a visit.

Near the Solarie Pass border crossing, at an altitude of 960 meters, stands this stele commemorating Riccardo Giusto. He is considered the first of approximately 650,000 Italian soldiers to die during the First World War.

The highlight is essentially a small plateau consisting of two levels. It is also a pass at 960 meters. On the upper level, there is a memorial from which there is a beautiful view of Friuli. On the lower level, there is an Alpine building and a slightly larger shrine.

A former border station, a classic example of modern architecture, having become obsolete due to the expansion of EU member states. On the Italian side, the border building is very well preserved and used by the Alpini (Italian mountain troops), while the Slovenian building is dilapidated. On the Italian side, there is also a monument to a distinguished Alpini soldier.

An outstanding showcase of Christian strength, Christian will, and the Catholic faith in villages far from the cities. This is now the third Madonna statue, as the first two were destroyed by storms or swept away by the stream. Regardless, the Madonna is a magnificent specimen worth seeing and brims with confidence against the flowing stream.

It was quite an effort to get there, but when you look around you immediately understand that it was worth it.
