The Margherita di Savoia salt pan in Puglia represents the most important and extensive salt pan of marine origin in Italy.

The Margherita di Savoia salt pans nature reserve is a protected natural area established in 1977. It occupies an area of almost 4,000 hectares and is located in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. These salt pans, which overlook the Adriatic, are among the largest in Europe. Between five and six million quintals of sea salt are extracted here every year.

The territory of Zapponeta extends between the Gargano national park and the Margherita di Savoia salt pans, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. The area is known for its agricultural production, and for a sandy coast with crystal clear sea, which have earned the beach the Blue Flag recognition.

Trinitapoli is located in the Ofanto valley, in the Lower Tavoliere della Capitanata, and its name derives from the church of the Santissima Trinità, built in the 12th century. Piazza Santo Stefano is worth a visit, transformed in 2021 into the "Amphitheater of Legality", with murals dedicated to Falcone, Borsellino and the victims of the mafia.
