The Maria-Einsiedl Chapel is located very close to the Unterberger mountain hut. Unfortunately, the hut can only be entered through the entrance area. The interior (altar and votive paintings) can only be viewed through a gate.

At 1,190 meters above sea level, the Unterberg Refuge lies below the summit of the highest mountain in the Gutenstein Alps. You can enjoy fine dining and drinks in the cozy parlor and on the terrace.

The church in Rohr im Gebirge was first mentioned around 1470. The current parish church was built starting in 1878 and is a simple hall church. The interior appears quite dark and contains several old statues. Special mention is made of the tabernacle, which is said to be the heaviest in the Archdiocese of Vienna. 😊

I can happily recommend the Hotel Kaiser Franz Josef for an overnight stay. The restaurant offers good Viennese cuisine, and the rooms are modern and renovated.

A fairly new, covered bridge spans the Klausbach stream. It's a visually appealing sight. 👍
