The Visconti Citadel in Bergamo Alta is a quadrangular fortress built in the 14th century by Bernabò Visconti to consolidate his dominion over the territory and control the city. It's a steep climb up here, no matter which direction you come from. Unfortunately, the gate is still locked early in the morning, and you can't get in.
