루뎀스맨헨은 숲에서 출몰하는 유령입니다. 오래전 클뤼세라트와 퇴르니히 사이에서 구획 경계를 두고 분쟁이 있었습니다. 각 마을은 루뎀발트의 특정 부분이 자신들의 구획에 속한다고 주장했습니다.

Brotherhood cross of the St. Matthias Brotherhood of Lülsdorf-Ranzel. In the Eifel region, there are approximately 150 such pilgrim crosses and stelae erected by Matthias brotherhoods along the way to Trier.

According to local legend, the Rudemsmännchen is a ghost who, during his lifetime, committed serious fraud in disputes over borders and is now forced to haunt the area as punishment.

The memorial chapel at Rudem was consecrated in 1957. The mosaic altarpiece is by the Mettlach artist Gottwald. It depicts the Virgin Mary spreading her protective cloak over the congregation. In the foreground: a winegrower on the right, a mother with her child on the left, the parish church behind, and the vineyards of Klüsserath in the background. The Rudem Chapel is located at the end of the 14-station Way of the Cross.

Anyone who hikes to the Rudems Chapel in the vineyards will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Moselle Valley.

Pope John Paul II expressed the following thoughts during the Stations of the Cross for the Jubilee Year 2000 in the Colosseum in Rome, which may also be an inspiration for religious hikers on this Stations of the Cross, which leads above Klüsserath along the slopes of the Moselle Valley: "Was it not necessary for the Messiah to suffer all these things in order to enter into his glory?" (Luke 24:26). At the end of the traditional Stations of the Cross at the Colosseum, we ask ourselves the same question. (...) Dear sisters and brothers! People today need to meet the crucified and risen Jesus! Who, if not the divinely condemned, can fully understand the suffering of the one who is unjustly condemned? Who, if not the mocked and humiliated king, can answer the expectations of the many men and women who are without hope and degraded? Who, if not the crucified Son of God, can understand the pain and abandonment of the many people who despair of life because they have no future ahead of them? (Pope John Paul II)
