Not just a prison, but also a museum

It's actually sad that this view is mainly about the prison... but I also took a picture and was actually amazed at how big the complex is...

So the seating here is all really cute

The crossing has been freshly peeled out of the egg and now shines with new seating. Of course, the decorations are a must, and the little bird and the squirrel round off the overall picture.

Friedrich Schiller stayed in the pub several times, as he lived in the neighboring town and often walked to Meiningen. He even picked flowers in the garden for his unrequited love.

The beautiful forest edge path offers new and beautiful views of Untermaßfeld and the neighboring Obermaßfeld. In Untermaßfeld, the current prison, the former moated castle of the Henneberger House, dominates the picture.

In 1543, a footbridge was built over the Werra in Untermaßfeld. The construction was paid for with income from the Marian pilgrimage in the neighboring town of Grimmenthal. The first arched bridge was built in 1599.
