A pleasant route with short sections through the forest.

Approximately one kilometer northeast of Kremsmünster Abbey, on a hill above the town, stands the chaplain's church, dedicated to St. Stephen. Its origins date back to the Romanesque period. The first church building dates back to 1098 and was consecrated as a parish church. A new building, essentially the same as the present building, was constructed in 1445. It was remodeled in the Baroque style between 1654 and 1656, and the interior was remodeled in the Rococo style between 1753 and 1754. On August 5, 1985, the tower collapsed during a violent storm, prompting the tower to be rebuilt. Starting in 1997, the building underwent extensive restoration to mark its 900th anniversary. Unfortunately, the position on Komoot is incorrect. The castle is located a good 6 km away near Rohr an der Krems, not on Linzer Straße next to Hall Castle in Bad Hall. Please correct this position, as otherwise the planning will be based on incorrect assumptions. The correct position would be 48.074749, 14.180378.

Buddhist Center & Snack Bar

Achleiten Castle is a private property and is not normally open to visitors. However, it attracts numerous guests every year in June when the well-known CDI Achleiten dressage tournament takes place on the grounds. During this event, the riding facility and part of the castle grounds are open to visitors, so that interested parties have access to the tournament areas.

The center is a very beautiful, well-kept courtyard with an Asian-style garden (no-na 😉). It is located on a great free MTB route between Bäckerberg and Hacklberg.
