The night at the Boerio refuge is worth the hike alone; ibex approach the refuge as early as late afternoon. For the return to Maljasset, it's best to do a loop via the Salsa pass and descend via Lac du Loup (+200m elevation gain and 1.5 hours extra). The route descends through the northern scree slopes of Rubren, where snow patches linger late in the season; the terrain is extremely rocky!

The Carmagnola bivouac was set up by the Municipality of Acceglio and the volunteers of the CAI Carmagnola in 2017. Not far from here, you can still see the old refuge set up in 1973 on the ruins of a former barracks that today is abandoned due to repeated acts of vandalism that have made the refuge unusable. In the bivouac you can find 10 beds with mattresses, pillows and blankets, the internal table with bench and stools and an area with a shelf for cooking. Outside there is also a table and a station for basic bicycle repairs. The effort to get up here is certainly well rewarded by the incredible panorama that surrounds you, we recommend that you take a moment to contemplate it.

Nice starting point for various paths or for the via ferrata of Camoglieres. Several parking spaces available.

The Bagnour refuge is located in the heart of the enchanting Alevé forest, the largest pine forest in Italy, at 2,017 meters above sea level. It has twenty beds and twenty-four internal seats, with half or full board service. The refuge is open every day from mid-June to mid-September, from September to June open on weekends and holidays (during the week only by reservation). The Bagnour refuge is the ideal destination for day trips or as a base for multi-day itineraries such as the Giro del Monviso. Along the famous Cyclamen Path, with a very short detour to Camoglieres, you can use this inn which acts as a bar, restaurant and has beds.

The Locanda del Silenzio is a stopover on the Percorsi Occitani. The atmosphere is pleasant and the cuisine is very good.

The Boerio Bivouac is located on the shores of Lake Mongioia and is an excellent base for reaching the Mongioia and Salza peaks. Its octagonal plan makes it unmistakable. It has recently been restored.
