In medieval times, in this small village on the first hills of Ozzano there stood a castle built to defend the Via Emilia and the surrounding territory, dating back to at least 1099 and rebuilt in 1175. Today, part of the ancient walls and the tower remain as evidence of this past. recently restored, which over the centuries has become the symbolic building of Ozzano dell'Emilia, to the point of even appearing in the municipal coat of arms. Inside the picturesque village there is a traditional tavern of the same name and the ancient church of San Pietro.

Via del Pilastrino is a historic panoramic dirt road that connects the towns of Ciagnano and Settefonti, within the Gessi Bolognesi and Calanchi del'Abbadessa Regional Park. Along the road, a seventeenth-century pillar restored at the beginning of the century marks the place where the Camaldolese Monastery of S. Cristina was located, where the Blessed Lucia da Settefonti was Abbess. A little further on there is a lookout with some benches, from which it is possible to admire the barren landscapes of the gullies and enjoy an excellent view of the plain on one side, and of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines on the other. On clear days you can see the profiles of Corno alle Scale and Mount Cimone, the highest peak in the northern Apennines.
