You can park along the asphalt road taking advantage of the larger spaces, and then set off and arrive at the Refuge with reserve energy.

very popular refuge as you can get there by car (as long as there is space, then they close the road). It is also the starting point for many excursions.

Nice refuge, easy to access if you arrive and park until the end of the asphalt road. If you start from lower down you need to have good legs.

Refuge owned by the Mondovì CAI and dedicated to the memory of Havis de Giorgio, a mountaineer from Montreal who died in 1939. It can be easily reached on a dirt road (or with some shortcut path) in half an hour from the Porta di Pian Marchisio where you leave the 'car. Therefore reachable even by families who are not used to long walks. It can be used as a base for longer excursions

Positioned on the large plateau (Pian Rosso) above the town of Viozene, surrounded by vast green pastures, the Mongioie refuge is a splendid Alpine structure with excellent cuisine. Behind the refuge rise the imposing wall of Mongioie and the top of the Saline. This place is the ideal starting point for high-altitude runs and to reach the top of Mongioie. It also has a beautiful sun terrace with fantastic views.
