The most "recent" town in the municipality of Lizzano in Belvedere, whose parish was established in 1931. Previously it was the site of a pilgrimage for a terracotta icon of the Madonna placed on an oak tree in the mid-19th century, hence the name of the town. The town is located at the foot of Monte Belvedere, on which it is possible to admire the remains of the castle built in 1297 by the municipality of Bologna, as well as the trenches dating back to the Gothic line, of which the battle fought there in February 1945 is remembered.

Gaggio Montano is mainly known for the presence of a lighthouse, unique in Italy due to its position: in the Apennines and not along the coast. In addition to the lighthouse, the old village, built around the rocky spur, is worth a visit. Given the location, the view from Gaggio Montano is truly spectacular.

This monument is a splendid example of integration between art and nature. The sinuous shapes of the sculpture recall the reliefs of the mountains seen in the background. It is dedicated to the Brazilian soldiers who fought in World War II. A truly unusual point of interest for the Apennine area.
