beautiful mountain village with great views

Beautiful stretch of road with beautiful typical Tuscan views and on the coast and little traffic. To and from Riparbella and Castellina.

A really beautiful and recommendable section.

Halfway up the hill between the plain and Castellina Marittima, it's worth stopping at the panoramic square overlooking the valley, or for a sandwich with local cheese and ham at one of the grocery stores. Leaving the village, there's a small park with a fountain of quality water and a shaded bench near a statue of a mother with a dead child in her arms, a reminder of the barbarity of war.

On the road from Riparbella to Castellina Marittima you always have a great panorama of the coastal region and the surrounding area.

This section of the Via Roma has beautiful curves that make a descent from Castellina Maritima to Rosignano even more beautiful. Have fun...

Castellina, located between the provinces of Pisa and Livorno, is a fascinating medieval village whose origins date back to the Etruscan era. This enchanting place stands on Mount Vitalba, the highest peak of the Pisan hills, which hosts a wind farm and connects the municipalities of Castellina and Chianni via the panoramic Montevaso road. From the top of this hill, on clear days, you can admire a breathtaking view that extends from Volterra to the Tuscan archipelago and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.

This panoramic road that runs continuously up and down between Casaglia and La Sterza allows you to enjoy the hilly panorama all around. The smooth asphalt makes it a very pleasant rollercoaster for bikes.
