This is one of the many ancient mills found along the region's waterways. It's one of those monuments that reminds us of how life was lived in Italy until recently.

Bettona is a characteristic Umbrian village. Built on a cliff, it offers a splendid panoramic view: on one side, the Martani Mountains, and on the other, the Umbrian Valley, stretching from Perugia to Spoleto.

Located outside the city walls, the watchtower of the Castrum Torsciani, with its majestic mass, represents the emblem of the medieval city; until the mid-15th century, it constituted the entrance to a customs area, where goods and products from a vast area of central Italy converged on ships bound for Rome via the Tiber.

A charming medieval village, located directly opposite Mount Subasio. It can be reached from the plain below, accessed via the road from Bettona to Bevagna.

Right where the Ponte Vecchio, symbol of the populous Ponte San Giovanni neighborhood, was rebuilt, the Tiber cycle/pedestrian path begins, which runs along the river and reaches Ponte Pattoli and beyond.

Church of St. Ermete, V. Ponte S. Giovanni, Brufa The church was destroyed, and the remains were transferred to the main church, dedicated to the city's patron saint, St. Ermete, who was martyred by having his head cut off during the reign of Emperor Hadrian in 118 AD. The wooden statue of the saint was recently stolen and replaced with a work by Marcello Sforna. Two valuable paintings can be admired in the church: an Annunciation attributed to Sebastiano Conca (Gaeta 1680 - Naples 1764), a Madonna of the Rosary with Saints Dominic and Catherine of Siena (1630-1640), attributed to Anton Maria Fabrizi (Perugia 1595-1649), and a Fedeli organ from the same period. Both the paintings and the organ were recently restored. Next to the church stands a beautiful 30-meter-high square bell tower, completed in 1896. On the bell tower's façade, you can admire a terracotta statue of the patron saint of Biscarini, as well as the interior altar of the church itself.
