The size of the Fortress is impressive.

Campli still preserves many historic buildings of notable interest, which is why it is included in the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Monte Girella is the top of the Montagna dei fiori. You can climb to the top via an easy path starting from the Monte Piselli ski lifts in the San Giacomo area. From the top, on clear days you can see the Adriatic coast up to Conero, the Gran Sasso and Sibillini mountains. It is beautiful to observe the nearby Montagna di Campli.

It is one of the most visited places in Abruzzo as a place of worship (but not only). The sanctuary consists of 28 wooden steps to be climbed kneeling (like the Roman one) for the remission of sins. Campli is a municipality in the Province of Teramo within the Gran Sasso park and the Laga mountains. Included among the most beautiful villages in Italy, it is rich in history, art and nature. The Fortress of Civitella del Tronto, located 600 m. above sea level in a strategic position with respect to the old northern border of the Viceroyalty of Naples with the Papal State, it is one of the largest and most important military engineering works in Europe characterized by an elliptical shape with an extension of 25,000 m2 and a length of over 500 m .
