    Campli is an Italian town of 6 539 inhabitants in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo. It is part of the union of mountain municipalities of the Laga and, since 2018, it has been included in the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

        Take via del Sole behind piazza Vittorio Emanuele II towards the church of San Paolo to visit the nearby Scala Santa, so called since 1772 when the custom of granting the indulgence to those who climbed the twenty-eight steps on their knees and bowed head spread in oak wood. The stairway is very suggestive because it is surrounded by six canvases that depict the passion of Christ and retrace the story of the Gospels.

            Campli is a municipality in the Province of Teramo within the Gran Sasso park and the Laga mountains. Included among the most beautiful villages in Italy, it is rich in history, art and nature. Located among the hills, it extends up to Monte Foltrone, a few tens of kilometers from the Adriatic coast. Numerous testimonies document its important past. Inside the village it is possible to visit the numerous churches, the historic buildings (Palazzo Farnese, Porta Angioina, Casa Medico Speziale) and the archaeological museum where the findings of the Campovalano necropolis are preserved, a few km away from the centre. On Sundays there is a market and the famous Campli porchetta sandwich is recommended, as is a stop at the Farnese café.
