The complex is made up of the church and the annexed former Benedictine convent. The latter is now owned by a farm that produces quality wine, which has transformed the convent into a location for wine tasting and sales.

Attached to the Benedictine monastery, it has a square plan with arches and an octagonal brick well in the centre of the courtyard. The cloister has lunettes frescoed by the Polish master Sebastiano Majewski.

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta represents the Cathedral of the city of Teramo. The entrance to the church is in Piazza Orsini. The characteristic of the Cathedral of Teramo is that it boasts two facades. The cathedral can also boast the most beautiful bell tower of the Gothic-Lombard art of Abruzzo. Inside, to see, the silver Paliotto, a work of Nicola da Guardiagrele (1433 - 1448) and the fifteenth-century Polyptych of Sant'Agostino made by the Venetian Jacobello del Fiore.
