The Via Cassia was an ancient Roman consular road that connected Rome with Etruria. Built starting from the 3rd or 2nd century BC, it initially reached Clusium (Chiusi), then was extended to Cortona, Arezzo and Fiesole and, subsequently, towards the Tyrrhenian coast through Pistoia and Lucca from which several routes branched off up to Luni, where the Via Aemilia Scauri began. The Via Cassia started from Rome but did not begin, like all the consular roads, from the golden miliarium located in the Roman Forum. In fact, it originated from the Milvian Bridge, in the northern part of Rome, on the right bank of the Tiber which divided Rome from Etruria (the territory between the Arno and the Tiber ), marking the miles travelled in Etruria.

On the road to Grotte Santo Stefano there is a sacred Moai statue that originates from Easter Islands. The statue is about 10 m high and was made in the early 1990s. For this purpose, 11 members of the Maori Atan family came over from Easter Islands. They were followed for 4 weeks in a television programme on the RAI. The statue is the only one in the world that is located outside Easter Islands. The statue was made from a single piece of peperino stone. From this panoramic point you have a beautiful view of the old town of Vitorchiano, which is built entirely on a rock. In addition, your wish can come true if you touch the navel of the Moai with your hands…

"The statue was created in 1990 by eleven members of the Atan family, originally from Rapa Nui (Easter Island). The project was born during the RAI television program “Alla ricerca dell’arca” by journalist Mino d’Amato, with the aim of promoting the restoration of the Moai on Easter Island. Vitorchiano was chosen as the ideal location for the construction thanks to the presence of peperino, a volcanic stone similar to that used for the original Moai. The Atan craftsmen used the same traditional techniques, working with axes and stones to sculpt the monument.".

Civita di Bagnoregio is a magical, surreal, fantastic place, located on the top of a tuff hill and reachable only through a narrow pedestrian bridge from which you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of all of Lazio. Nicknamed the dying city, due to the constant erosion of the tuff rocks on which it is located, this citadel halfway between Orvieto and Lake Bolsena has Etruscan and medieval origins.

Located in Montefiascone, Italy, the Cathedral of San Margherita is a former Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Margaret of Antioch, the city's patron saint. It has one of the largest domes in Italy and is visible from most towns in the Viterbo area. The cathedral, originally built in the 15th and 16th centuries, also contains the tomb of Cardinal Marco Antonio Barbarigo.
