Burgenland's first artificial lake was built between 1962 and 1964 and is located in the tranquil and picturesque Faludital valley. It is approximately 300 m long, 100 m wide, and a maximum of 7 m deep. The bathing lake is fed by springs on the southern slope of the Geschriebenstein and boasts excellent water quality. There is a bathing lake buffet with a seating terrace on the south shore and a snack bar on the north shore. The pilgrimage church in Lockenhaus is an impressive building in the Baroque style, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1656. It is particularly famous for the largest church organ in Burgenland, which has been playing since 2003 and attracts numerous visitors. Inside the church, you will be amazed by the magnificent altar of the Virgin Mary and the miraculous image of "The Mother of Good Counsel". The mystical "Black Madonna" is located in the crypt.
