The war memorial, located just outside the village near the cemetery, is surprising in its choice of motif: The central figure at the center of the complex is Christ, but he is not depicted as the crucified Christ with his arms outstretched; instead, he has his arms crossed and points to his heart. This gesture is likely intended as an outward sign of his divine mercy, which he will also extend to the fallen soldiers of the two world wars, in whose memory the memorial was erected.
