It is world-famous for the Marinelli Pontifical Bell Foundry and the Bell Museum, among the oldest foundries in Italy and the world. The historic center, with its Venetian quarter, historic buildings, and numerous churches, reflects a long artisan tradition, particularly in metalworking and quality cheesemaking.
