I knew the name for being the destination of the "Trans-Siberian of Italy" is a secondary railway line in Abruzzo and Molise. It is now crossed by tourist trains as part of the "Timeless Tracks" project

Civitanova del Sannio is located in the heart of Molise. The town is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by beech forests and with the Trigno river nearby. In August, sausage and cavatelli festivals are held, a typical pasta of this area.

If you happen to be in these parts, pass by this wonderful place cared for by a kind gentleman who welcomes you.

It is located above the locality of Pesche and it is an eighteenth-century source of water at an altitude of 925m. We are in a protected nature reserve. Nearby stands the refuge of the same name

The name Civitanuova, which means precisely "new city", was attributed to it to distinguish it from Civitavetula, i.e. the old city, which today is the village of Duronia a few km away from here.

Ancient fortified city with a curious U shape due to the conformation of the rocks on which it stands. To visit, near the historic center, the two waterfalls, one artificial and one natural.

This refuge is located about two and a half hours from Isernia and one hour from Pesche. It is inserted in a wonderful natural environment; a few steps from the shed there is an eighteenth-century source.
