The Biferno river is the only river that flows entirely in Molise. 93 kilometers long, it originates on Mount Matese and flows into the Adriatic Sea in Termoli.

Located along the valley of the Biferno river, the village of Torella del Sannio stands on a hill. The castle built in the 10th century is worth a visit where you can see the permanent exhibition of the Neapolitan painter Elena Ciamarra.

The "Italic Temple of San Giovanni in Galdo" is an ancient Italic temple located outside the center of San Giovanni in Galdo, in the province of Campobasso. Built around the 3rd century BC, it features a quadrangular plan with a pronaos and a single row of columns surrounding the sacred cell. The cathedral of the Holy Trinity is the mother church of Campobasso and seat of the metropolitan archdiocese. It is worth a visit inside because it is full of frescoes, stained glass windows and a pipe organ. It was destroyed by the earthquake of 1805 and rebuilt in the neoclassical style in the 19th century.

Most important city of Molise and capital of the region. Built at the foot of the Monforte hill where the homonymous castle stands, symbol of the city.
