A pleasant medieval village. In addition to the historic center and the very characteristic Jewish quarter, the Castello Svevo and the Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta are definitely worth a visit.

Built on a hill, the historic village dominates the entire city and the valley. With its winding, uphill streets, old houses with faded paintwork and huge castle, Oria has the look and feel of a true medieval village.

The Bosco Preti is a small woodland of approximately 2 hectares of cork oaks. A 1995 study reports that the forest had an area of 15.69 hectares.

Located about five kilometers from the inhabited center, in the open countryside, it was originally a small church founded by the Basilian monks in an area without any cultivation which explains the nickname "to the scrub". For over half a century it has represented the ideal religious center of the whole Salento. Over the centuries, the church has been enlarged and today, at the top of the facade, it has a large statue of Christ the Redeemer. Outside, in addition to a rich portico, an outdoor church was created for the celebrations of the summer and spring period. Dedicated to the Medici Saints Cosimo, Damiano, Antimo, Euprepio and Leonzio, the sanctuary was recently restored as part of the works for the Great Jubilee of the 2000s. Outside it also has facilities for welcoming pilgrims who come from all over the South and also from abroad. Not far from the Sanctuary, the Episcopal Curia had a modern structure built which houses the Episcopal Seminary.
