The Rottauensee is a flood retention basin and was built between 1968 and 1972 by the Free State of Bavaria to protect the lower Rottal from flooding. The Rottauensee is located in the Postmünster municipality west of the town of Pfarrkirchen and is a popular local recreation area. 🌞🌳 The associated areas were designed to be an important habitat for animals and plants!
