Pretty little perched village which is part of the association Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. Since 1960 the castle and the houses of the village have been restored.

The old fortified town of La Couvertoirade was an agricultural bastion for the Templars who were well established in Larzac in the 12th century. Cultivation of cereals, breeding of sheep and horses, the environment is conducive to this agricultural activity.
