Be aware that this spring doesn't always provide water. Otherwise, it's a really nice spot. A few steps up the meadow and you can see all the way to the Schneeberg mountain.

Now known as the "Black Sheep," it once again boasts a small but fine menu. Open Thursdays to Sundays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., but only in good weather. It's usually closed when it rains.

The Schafhütt’n in Gießhübl is a charming little place to stop for a bite to eat right next to the Kuhheide hiking car park – ideal for a rest before or after a hike in the Vienna Woods 🌲🐑.

From the path you can always catch a glimpse of Wildegg Castle.

The view of the Schneeberg is not possible in all weather conditions, but it is still beautiful here.

The ruins of Johannstein Castle are located near Sparbach in Lower Austria (Austria), around eight kilometers west of Mödling at around 450 m above sea level. It is not certain when the hilltop castle was built. It was first given the name "ruin". Since 1809, the ruins and the Sparbach zoo have belonged to the Liechtenstein family. Between 1995 and 2000, the remaining masonry was fundamentally secured and restored. Today, the ruins are almost completely surrounded by the surrounding forest. Access is only possible during the zoo's opening hours.

The charcoal burner's house, or also known as the charcoal burner's house ruin, is almost the highest point in the nature park, and from here you can enjoy the unique view of the southern Vienna Woods. In good weather, the view extends to the Rax and Schneeberg areas. The charcoal burner's house itself is one of the so-called staffage buildings, artificial structures that were created in the Biedermeier period and represents one of the elements in the spirit of this period to enrich the ideal landscape created by people (see also the history of the nature park).
