We were here in winter, with a bit of snow. The large pane is certainly very beautiful at other times of the year too. At the top you have a great view of the Rax.

The highest point of the Rax is the Heukuppe at 2,007 meters, which is entirely in the province of Styria. The highest elevation of the Rax plateau on the Lower Austrian side is the Scheibwaldhöhe at 1,943 meters.

"The Wildalpe is a 1523 m above sea level mountain in the Styrian part of the Mürzsteg Alps. It is part of the main Alpine ridge, which continues north over the Lahnsattel (1015 m) to the Göller (1766 m) and west over the Freinsattel (1106 m) to the Hohen Student (1539 m). Valley locations are Frein in the southern uppermost Mürz Valley and Terz in the northern Salzatal. At the eastern end of the gentle, elongated and unwooded Wildalpen ridge is the extensive Sulzrieglalm (around 1150 m). There is also a transmitter near the summit. There are no marked paths leading to the Wildalpe, but the summit is often climbed, especially in winter, due to its wide view and its avalanche-safe descents. Partly steep ascent over the Alm with a wonderful view of the Göller At the top it is open and susceptible to wind. We went up with snowshoes in December 2020.
