    The Windberg (1,903 meters), the highest point of the Schneealmmassiv, rises no more than 30 minutes from the Schneealpenhaus. The Schneealm is located in the district of Mürzzuschlag in the province of Styria, only a small part of the massif belongs to Lower Austria. The view from the summit is sufficient in suitable weather (unfortunately I did not have that today) from the Hohe Veitsch, Hochschwab, Göller to Schneeberg and Rax. In extremely good visibility you can also guess the Gesäuse and the Dachstein massif.

            The main summit of the Schneealpe is 150 meters above the plateau, in the valley of which lies the cozy Michlbauerhütte. From here you can easily overlook the Schneealpe and enjoy the view to the Rax. The rise from the plateau is not difficult on all sides.
