Nice little old town, opportunities for a break.

The characteristic architecture of the town hall testifies to a late Gothic style. A special feature of the town hall is its painted façade, which features elaborate decorations and frescoes. The inner courtyard of the town hall is adorned with Gothic arcade windows overgrown with Virginia creeper. A figure supposedly depicting Jörg von Frundsberg (one of the town's founders) stands at the corner of the building.

Part of the path has collapsed. It's impassable. You have to carry your bike over rocks and the stream. It's doable, but difficult.

Komoot sent us from the Inntal Cycle Path up to the bridge. No sooner said than done. But be careful, there's only an old, worn-out ramp up here, so you'll have to push or carry it; it's very steep!

"The mother of all mines," the largest silver mine of the late Middle Ages, is located in Schwaz in Tyrol. Up to 10,000 miners searched for and found silver and copper here 500 years ago, turning the town of Schwaz into the largest mining metropolis in the world!

The parish church of Schwaz resembles a massive Gothic double cathedral: a high, four-aisled Gothic hall church with magnificent artistic furnishings recalls the importance and wealth of Schwaz, the silver town. Formerly, the naves were separated by wooden partitions for the citizens and miners.

The town hall of the district capital Schwaz shines above all with its magnificently painted facades. 😊
