This snow well is a construction of traditional architecture with great ethnographic importance. Its construction began in 1683. The snow/ice was stored for later transport to nearby towns, intended for use both in food preservation and in the field of medicine.

From its top at 1370 meters you will have amazing views of the valleys of the Altiplano de Murcia and beyond! There are many alternative paths to reach the top with more or less difficulty but all of them are very attractive. Remember to bring plenty of water and suitable footwear, if you prefer some walking sticks will always help. At the top is the mountain refuge to spend the night and enjoy wonderful sunsets and sunrises!

The summit 'El Carcho' is at 1,371m altitude. You have a wonderful view of the surrounding valleys. The refuge offers an excellent opportunity to stay overnight to enjoy the sunset and sunrise.
