The McDade Recreational Trail is an almost 30-mile long trail that runs from Hialeah Recreation Area to Milford Beach. The trail is mostly flat and follows the Delaware River for most of its trajectory.

This section of the Heritage Rail Trail goes through the North York Borough Park. The borough itself has a rich history, dating back to the 18th century. You can enjoy a peaceful journey as you follow Codorus Creek.

John Rudy Park is a great 150 acre public park. It has benches, a picnic area and restrooms. It is also one of the trail heads for the York County Heritage Trail.

This historic farmstead, once owned by Michael and Magdealena Bixler, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. The house itself now serves as the main office of the York County Parks Department, and the surrounding area is a public park.

Duff Park is a great green park near Murrysville. The park has a flat bike trail, the Funk Bikeway, that runs along Turtle Creek. There are also some more challenging trails in the park. In addition to the bike trails, the park has picnic tables, a pavilion, and restrooms.

Nice view of Turtle Creek. The Westmoreland Heritage Trail follows the creek, so there are several good spots to see the creek. The trail crosses the creek via a bridge at this point, so it is an especially good viewing spot.

The Westmoreland Heritage Trail is a scenic rail-trail that follows the path of the former Turtle Creek Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The trail passes through diverse landscapes, including woodlands and farmlands. It features historical markers and interpretive signs, offering insights into the region's industrial and cultural heritage.

Greensburg is a historic city in Westmoreland County. It was first settled at the end of the 18th century and became an important city in the area when coal was discovered nearby. Now, the city still has a vibrant commercial area, with restaurants and shops, so it is a good place to stop on the Five Star Trail.
