Nice new cycle way

Merihaansilta is a bridge located in Sörnäinen, Helsinki, connecting Merihaan and Nihti. It is part of the Kruunusillat project, together with Finkensilta and Kruunuvuorensilta. Construction of Merihaansilta was completed in 2025.

Kuusijärvi is home to the only smoke saunas in the Helsinki Metropolitan area. In winter, the swimming takes on a more daring aspect, when you can try a spot of ice swimming. There's a cafe and restaurant, serving all manner of burgers and platters for that all-important refuel.

another section of the Itäbaana high-quality bike route now complete, the eastern end is a bit dodgy with the garage exit and the onward connection to the next baana segment on the other side of the metro station (I’d just ride on the street) but otherwise excellent

brand new bike/ped/tram bridge connecting Merihaka and Nihti, the connecting routes at each end are still construction sites and this will make for an even nicer route further east when the next bridge and the connection via Korkeasaari opens for cycling as well as the full route to Laajasalo (2026), but this is already now my preferred route heading east from the inner city (bonus points for avoiding all the road blocks whenever there is a festival in Suvilahti)
