Beautiful view of Lochan Dubh. The point has a cairn. Feel free to add your own stone. The visit is especially recommended in late July and early August when the heather is in bloom. You can do the tour as a circuit. In that case, we recommend the clockwise route. You can very well see the shape of Lochan Dubh. The lake is 1 kilometer long.

From the top of the Craigellachie you can enjoy beautiful panoramas. The "cairn" indicates that you are there.

The entrance to the reserve is on the south side of Aviemore, close to the youth hostel (signposted from the main road). Take the path leading to the youth hostel past the caravan park and enter the reserve passing under the A9. The route is quite steep in places and rough and muddy in others. You can park in the youth hostel car park during your visit, but do not leave vehicles overnight.
