Every year an artist is invited to confront the Old-Grown Forests, recognized in 2017 as a UNESCO heritage site. Arteparco is a union between Art and Nature, which combines artistic beauty with unique and uncontaminated places such as the Park, an open-air museum where nature alone is the protagonist. The initiative is born from the collaboration between the Park Authority, the Municipality of Pescasseroli and PARCO1923 – a perfume brand inspired by the plants and flowers of the Park – and is carried out with the support of BMW Italia, which has always shown particular attention to the issues of sustainability and environmental protection, and Sky Arte, the in-depth television channel dedicated to culture and art. Partners of the project for the first time also GORE-TEX, a leading company in the creation of technologies for outdoor clothing, committed to ensuring a positive economic and social impact while respecting the environment, and the Woolrich Out Door Foundation, which is committed to protecting and safeguarding outdoor spaces for communities around the world. For the commitment to the enhancement of the territory demonstrated over the years by ARTEPARCO, the initiative enjoys the Patronage of the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

Barrea is a comune located in the Abruzzo region, in the province of L'Aquila, in Italy. It is located within the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, and is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and unspoiled nature. The town is located on the shores of the lake of the same name, Lago di Barrea, which is one of the main attractions of the area. The beauty of the lake and its surroundings makes Barrea an ideal destination for nature lovers and for those who want to spend moments of relaxation and tranquillity. The historic center of Barrea is characterized by narrow streets and stone houses that still maintain the charm of traditional architecture. The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is one of the main places of interest, with its bell tower. The area around Barrea offers numerous possibilities for excursions, trekking, horse riding and outdoor activities. The national park is famous for its rich fauna and flora, with the possibility of spotting different species of wildlife such as bears, wolves, chamois, deer and golden eagles. Barrea is also famous for its culinary traditions, with typical dishes of Abruzzo cuisine such as homemade pasta, local cheeses and delicious traditional desserts.

Monte Marrone is a mountain in the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. It is famous for having been the scene of a battle between the Alpini and the Germans during the Second World War. For this reason, on the top there is an iron cross with a bronze eagle and the motto of the Alpini Battalion "Tut per l'Italia" (Everything for Italy).

Monte Marrone is a 1,800 meter high mountain in the Apennines. From its summit you can enjoy an excellent view of Lago di Castel San Vincenzo and, if visibility is good, even of the sea. On its southern flank, a small path leads down about 500 meters from the summit. At its end is the now-abandoned cottage of artist Charles Moulin, who lived here for much of each year and found inspiration for his art in this special place. The hut was built by the artist himself and consists exclusively of dry stone walls and other natural materials.
