The ascent of Monte Livata crosses the spectacular panorama of the Simbruini mountains. Monte Livata is part of the municipality of Subiaco and is located at an altitude of 1,429 metres. It is a very popular place for walking and various sports activities: it is called the mountain of the capital.

The Via dei Monasteri connects Subiaco with the Sacro Speco di Subiaco, a Benedictine monastery. The road has little traffic and passes through a pleasant mountain environment. The hermitage follows the Romanesque - Gothic style and boasts various chapels carved out of the rock.

This short bridge that crosses Lake Turano offers a truly spectacular view of the surrounding environment. From here you can admire the wooded slopes of the Monti Navegna Cervia nature reserve to the west, the Carseolani mountains to the east, the perched village of Castel di Tora right at the end of the bridge and the small peninsula of Antuni, on the top of which stands an ancient medieval village.
