In 2017, De Pont celebrated its 25th anniversary. To mark this occasion, and in recognition of Kapoor's longstanding relationship with the museum, the renowned British artist created a six-meter-high stainless steel sculpture. Sky Mirror (for Hendrik) is located in a unique water garden, specially designed for this occasion by English landscape architect Sophie Walker. "The Mirror That Captures the Sky" This polished steel sculpture by Anish Kapoor stands in the forecourt of the De Pont Museum and is six meters tall. It appears as if a mirror has descended from the sky. The Dutch skies are reflected in it, meaning the work never looks the same.
