Moss is a historic harbour town on the eastern shore of the Oslofjord, long known for its shipbuilding and paper industry. Today it mixes maritime heritage with a lively cultural scene, offering galleries, cafés and a waterfront that buzzes with ferries crossing to Horten.

Såner Church is a modern striking looking church. it was built in 2000 after its predecessor (from 1880) was tragically destroyed by fire in 1995. The quiet surrounding cemetery provides a practical bonus where you can fill up your water bottle before continuing your journey.

Hjelmkollen Fortress is a Norwegian fort from the early 20th century, built between 1902 and 1903 to secure the border with Sweden and the mouth of the Iddefjord. After the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden in 1905, the fortress was demilitarized under the Karlstad Agreement. Today, the site is under the protection of the Norwegian Armed Forces and is a ventilated lookout point overlooking the old and new Svinesund Bridge.

Absolutely beautiful location and you can relax and eat or drink there or just have an ice cream and enjoy the view of the lake.

Camping is permitted overnight from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. There are restrooms and tables with benches.
