Well paved road between Tibirke Bakker and Tibirke Sand, hardly any traffic

Perfect and elaborate trails that can be ridden without MTB skills. With skill you're just faster... There are many more of these trails in this forest. Excellent!

Beautiful road through the fields along the forest

Tibirke church was probably built between 1120-30 as a small Romanesque church. Towards the end of the 14th century, the church was extended with the western part and the original flat beamed ceiling was replaced by a vaulted ceiling. At the same time, the original small windows were replaced with larger ones in Gothic style. In the middle of the 15th century, the original choir was replaced by a wider one. The tower dates from the first half of the 16th century. The church chairs are from 1550-1575.

Founded around 1100 as a monastery and owned by the Bischoff Absalon. In 1560, the castle, which was converted into a former monastery, became the property of the Danish king. Through the sand escape also fell the castle. The ruin was excavated again in 1849.

The village was abandoned more than 400 years ago because of the sand drift. Excavations now show two of the former farms in their layout in the landscape.
