The castle ruins are the ultimate tourist attraction on the island of Bornholm. We were lucky that it was quieter there during the off-season. The view from the ruins is very beautiful, and the hiking trails surrounding them are also not to be missed.

Make a point to explore Hammershus Castle, the largest medieval fortress in Northern Europe. These impressive ruins sit above the Bornholm Coastal Path and are well worth the detour. Offering you breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscape as you walk through the remains of the old walls and towers, you can almost imagine the castle in its prime. It served as a symbol of power and was a key part of the island's history. The panoramic vistas from here are perfect for a moment of quiet reflection.

Hammerodde Fyr is also called "little fire" or "Lille Fyr" in reference to its big brother Hammerfyr and stands on the northernmost point of the island of Bornholm. It is an integral part and a popular photo subject on the so-called "Hammertour" around the northern tip of Bornholm. Hammerodde Fyr was built as a complement to Hammerfyr and was put into operation in 1895. Compared to Hammerfyr, Hammerodde Fyr has a much better location, as it stands directly on the northern tip of the island. The white lighthouse with a red roof and square base has its own marine weather station. Since 1939, its light has also been supplemented by a radio beacon. All of the island's towers can also be controlled electronically from this lighthouse. This tower is not open to the public. The fire height is 21 meters, the structure height is 12 meters. Picturesque harbor with restaurants and sweets. Various benches offer the opportunity to rest. However, it is better to do this 350m further on at the tip by the cannons. There are also benches, a smokehouse and a great panorama of Lake Ossiach.

Beautiful little idyllic harbor that is not too crowded. There are small shops and cafes everywhere.

Here, at the northernmost point, the lighthouse offers a view of the Bornholmsgat. From the direction of Allinge-Sandvig, Hammer Odde Fyr can be reached via a tarmac road. During our hike, a herd of goats were walking here. For the natural single-trail coastal path from the direction of Hammershus/Sæne, surefootedness and sturdy shoes are required.
