Observation tower and rest area at the Steverauen in Olfen.

It's worth stopping by; the menu is great and the dishes are delicious. The beer garden is beautifully decorated, and there's even a Christmas room 😂

The rest area is located directly on the Eversum Circular Trail A3. An information station and information board are also located there. A path leads to the rapids on the Lippe River, and there's also a small sandy beach. A wonderful spot for a break.

Water buffalo are used for landscape maintenance in the Steve floodplains. They keep the floodplain landscape open by grazing plants, thus promoting the creation of open spaces. This grazing method is not only effective but also promotes biodiversity in the floodplain, as various plant and animal species benefit from the open spaces. When you gaze over the Steve floodplains with the buffalo, you somehow get a sense of Africa ;-).
