The Brillit Potato Museum stands next to a centuries-old oak tree. The former potato barn, which is around 150 years old, is now a listed building. The former Hawk position Ebersdorf, also known as FlaRak position Ebersdorf, was a military facility of the German Armed Forces that served for air defense. This position was located about 2 km south of the town of Ebersdorf and was built in 1969. It belonged to the 36th Air Defense Missile Battalion (FlaRakBtl 36) and was in operation until it was closed on March 28, 2002. During its operational period, the position was modernized several times to improve the infrastructure and increase defense capabilities. This included the construction of shelters, storage halls and other facilities for close-range defense. The facility was designed to be mobile in the event of a crisis and to be able to be quickly relocated to pre-scouted field positions. After the position was closed, the site was managed and partially leased by the Federal Agency for Real Estate (BIMA). The facility's distinctive radar towers were removed for security reasons in autumn 2015. Today, the former military use of the site is barely recognizable, and a renaturation of the area is planned.
