The hiker will notice the artificial structures at this point. Research shows that the 107th Infantry Regiment of the “Royal Saxon Army” was stationed in Leisnig from 1867 to 1869 and that the shooting ranges were laid out here in the forest.

The Eichgrundweg is a beautiful natural path east of Leisnig. It leads through a deciduous forest along the Wallbach and is equipped with some information boards on the subject of forests. The Eichgrundweg is part of the Lutherweg and begins further north directly on the Mulde.
