Short steep climb to the beautiful Dermbacher Hut with great views

Feldeck Castle was built on behalf of the Hersfeld monastery and was initially managed by the Lords of Frankenstein, like the other castles in the region. In 1622, the castle passed to the Butlar family, who have lived there ever since - interrupted only by a forced expropriation during the GDR era.

The climb was more difficult than expected, lots of nettles, burrs, blackberry bushes... and stones. Demanding uphill and good resting place at the top with a view to the west

Steep shell limestone cliffs are a geological feature in the Rhön. From Dermbach, a visit to the cliffs can be easily combined with the Staudt view and the tours to the Gläserberg.

Coming from the direction of Dermbach, the path to the Gläser leads through varied, sometimes rustic forest. It gradually thins out before it turns into meadows below the summit.
