30 years ago this was the old Sensefest place. At that time there was still an unpaved road along the Sense from Rufenen to this place, but it was completely swept away after several storms. A hiking trail, the Sense further away, was then redesigned. Today it is also increasingly home to the small, completely harmless smooth snake (information board).

The beaver dam dams the Dütschbach just before it flows into the Sense. The resulting forest lake has grown rapidly in recent years. Until the end of 2020 there were still a few shops on the hiking trail that led over wet spots, but in 2021 a wooden footbridge was built to cross the spot dry. A short distance above the footbridge, the lake now reaches the hiking trail again. About 600 meters further along the hiking trail upstream, another beaver dam is already being built. This time on the other side of the road.
