All that remains of the Plainburg are the outer walls, which are over five meters high and around 1.45 meters thick on average, the inner courtyard and the entrance area with the gatehouse. Today, the castle ruins with a viewing platform and a wide view are a popular destination. The ruins are accessible all year round between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., but the inner courtyard is closed in winter. Entry is free.
