Nice path along a very pleasant fast flowing small river between Grasmere and Rydal Water.

It is a charity walk / run yearly event in May. Well organised and lots of people. The full route (Keswick) K2B or shorter(Coniston) C2B to Barrow. Lots of people support and nice chat or just to test yourself. I am glad I did it - despite having sore legs for few days after 😅

This is a good easy trail to do as a family

The River Rothay flows between Grasmere and Rydal Water. The track follows the southern bank, it's rocky and fun to walk.

Gravel or MTB off-road route from Grasmere to Rydal, avoiding busy section of twisting main road. One section requires your to walk/carry bike. Connects nicely with backroad from Rydal to Ambleside, again avoiding traffic. Gets quite busy with walkers so best attempted in non-peak times.
