The German Limes Cycle Route Since 1996, the German Limes Road has followed the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes from Rheinbrohl / Bad Hönningen on the Rhine to Regensburg on the Danube. The almost 700 km long route crosses the four federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. In the Electorate Franconian section, Obernburg bears witness to its Roman past. The historic old town stands on the foundations of the fort of the 4th Aquitanian cavalry cohort, which was built in 83/85 AD. In Obernburg, a visit to the Roman Museum is worthwhile. You can also view finds from a fort site in Wörth am Main. The route between Obernburg and Miltenberg takes you along the Main.
