Lilienfeld Abbey is an important Cistercian monastery in Lower Austria and the largest medieval monastery in Austria. It was founded in 1202 by Leopold VI and impresses with its Gothic architecture. The monastery church is one of the largest Gothic churches in Austria with magnificent stained glass windows and an impressive high altar. The abbey is located in the Traisental, at the foot of the Muckenkogel, surrounded by an idyllic natural landscape. It is an ideal starting point for cycling tours, including the Muckenkogel mountain tour, which offers spectacular views.

The cycle path is also very good for racing cyclists as an accompanying path to the main road, if it's not just about speed... just before Bischofstetten there is a drinks machine (coins only) directly on the cycle path and in Bischofstetten there is a snack bar (picture) directly on... no, next to the cycle path!
